The Open Source Zone is the brainchild of Ugo Cei but owes much of its inspiration to an article by Matthew Langham.

Technicalities

The Open Source Zone is a Java web application that is built upon some really great tools and frameworks, like Apache Cocoon, Spring and Hibernate.

Data storage is ensured by PostgreSQL.
