Better than most, but., 2005-08-07, Rating: 4.

There's a lot of stuff in here. It explains all the basic Spring functionality and also gives a lot of old code/Spring code comparisons. My only complaint is that the subjects didn't seem to flow together; it used examples that, although they were appropriate, didn't tie in with each other. This also made it difficult for me to find things in a "reference book" mode.

Great step-by-step guide, 2005-02-23, Rating: 5.

Very well done. My favorite aspect is that Matt provides step-by-step refactorings of typical production code to not only show you the "hows," but also the "whys" of Spring and ways to get familiar a bit at a time.

An amazing book, 2005-01-22, Rating: 5.

This is truly an amazing book I can recommend to anyone developing web applications with J2EE. The amount of information provided is simply incredible, it's not 'only' about the Spring framework. There's a lot more to learn like different view technologies and a really extensive chapter about testing your applications.

I've never read a computer book providing such excellent examples (and it's not about a Petstore!). The author really knows his stuff from experience and his support is outstanding.
