LibreSource is a software platform dedicated to the software development and management of distributed communities.
LibreSource is a unique tool, highly adaptable to specific professional needs. It works in the frame of cooperative software development as well as of community animation: LibreSource is a real virtual office allowing geographically spread teams to work simultaneously on a common project.
LibreSource offers advanced functionalities for configuration management with its generic synchronisation module So6, resulting from INRIA research works. The creation of development chains, validation processes and quality control processes can be done through the interconnection of synchronisers. LibreSource includes numerous tools dealing with projects and users management, such as bug trackers, forums, wiki pages, mailing lists, etc
The search engine indexes all the data hosted in the platform, as well as uploaded files (Office: Word, PDF, Open Office). With its naming tree, LibreSource makes it possible to hierarchise the access to documents and resources. LibreSource enables to define easily and quickly public and private areas in respect with different users involved. This database supports the automatic archiving of online data.
LibreSource platform is based on the JAVA/J2EE technology. Its decentralized approach made it possible to develop a set of robust applications while disregarding the underlying software architecture.
LibreSource's design leads to efficient integration into pre-existing production environments and professional applications.
LibreSource is multi-platform and runs under Windows, Unix/Linux, and Mac OS-X operating systems.
No prerequisite installation is needed on the user side since all resources needed are deployed through the Java Web Start multi-platform technology.
LibreSource is developed following the open source approach (see www.osi.org) and has reached a professional quality level. Additional dedicated services and products such as LibreSource Enterprise Edition are available. For further information, please contact: libresource@artenum.com
